Dealing with digital media in old age

Those who have no or insufficient skills in using digital media are being excluded from more and more areas of social life - not least because the number of analog alternatives is steadily declining: Traditional media such as radio and television are offering more and more information exclusively online. Public authorities, transportation companies, banks and other service providers are cutting back on personal, on-site offerings, referring instead to the Internet and digital vending machines. Against this backdrop, the ability to competently use digital technology is essential for healthy social participation opportunities in old age.

Mrs. Sonnenschein, an actress, 75 years old, childless, wants to move from Germany back to Vienna after the death of her husband. This is the city of her childhood. Her parents' house had been rented until now. Her sister and niece, who live far away in the USA, cannot support her in her plan. From a friend from the old days she becomes aware of "We have time for you". Instead of taking the move into her own hands, she decides to use an "all-around service provider". An extensive assignment, from hiring a broker to sell her condo in Germany, to helping her renovate her childhood home in Vienna, to organizing the move. Together with Mrs. Sonnenschein, we decluttered, disposed of unwanted items and packed up for the move. The renovation work in Vienna was completed on time. After the moving company delivered on time, the grand finale could start - unpacking, hanging pictures, mounting lamps and curtains, assembling furniture and much more. Sometime later, she was able to present her new home to her friends at a small "housewarming party" - which was also organized through "We have time for you". Mrs. Sonnenschein recommends us with the words "time wealth is something you just can’t measure".
